Pig Minds Brewing Co.

Cool place. Pleasantly surprised. They serve food but this was part of Rockford area brewery tour (by myself) and I had already eaten earlier. They are vegan in spite of having pigs all over the place. The have a nice tap list. I choose Death Grip, an IPA, based on advice of a regular sitting next to me. The beer was solid, which forced me to purchase a 4-pack to go. The score reflects that I didn't have the food. I want room for improvement. I sat at the bar and a "slow" Saturday, while most of the people sat out in the sun that eats my skin up for nuclear lunch. This gave me a perfect line of site of the television and great service. Probably helped that the regular was near me as well. Still confused by the fact that they are named Pig Minds and have pigs all around the brewery, yet they are vegan. Having the regular next to me kept the time there moving along and gave me a chance to learn all about the history of the brewery from a patrons side. They named a beer after him but I know his name wasn't Norm. Rockford prices are a lot better than Chicago: at least $1 per beer, which is >12%. Right off a main road with lots of parking. Can't ask for more. Wasn't overly crowded but had a fair crowd for the size of the facility. I would visit again!
